On the 31st of March, the organisation CIRCO (circonl.nl) organised a series of workshops to find a sustainable and circular purpose for furnace slag, a waste material of the incineration process of industrial and household waste. To do so, varied organisation were invited such as AVR, Boskalis Environmental, Van Gelder and two different recycling groups. Waterweg participated as a circularity expert to give opinions, advice and inspiration to the various organisations belonging to the chain of furnace slag. This material is particularly interesting for us, as it could be used as construction material, particularly to replace gravel and/or filler material or the binding material in concrete, and, in the future, possibly dredge tiles.
